If he comes to your part of the world don’t miss hearing him speak.  His message is that we need no-one else to achieve what we have come here for.  No guru, master, leader or avatar.  It’s all up to us and we are all entirely capable of all that is needed!

The Raw and the Ripe @ Eumundi Food Fest

Sunday 28 June 2009

Foodies on the Sunshine Coast are advised to put Sunday 28 June in their diary as the date for the 2009 Eumundi Food Fest. Part of the Noosalongweekend 10 day cultural event, the Eumundi Food Fest (now in its seventh year) brings together local producers, growers, chefs, restaurateurs, entertainers and food lovers with a host of activities and entertainment throughout the day.

Eumundi Food Fest Coordinator Trent Harvison says Eumundi’s village atmosphere is the ideal setting for an event that has become a “must do” for those with an appreciation of fresh and fabulous food.

“The Tucker Tent is the main hub of the Food Fest. It will be the place to enjoy all sorts of foodie fun – with cooking presentations and demonstrations throughout the day,” Trent says.

“We’ll have a Ripe Talent Cook-off (a cooking competition between celebrities/well-known chefs) with each team given a box of mystery ingredients from which they must create a dish against the clock – with the audience deciding the winner.”

The Eumundi Food Fest will also feature a Raw Talent Restaurant hosted by school-based trainees in hospitality, as well as a Farmer’s Market, showcasing the sub-tropical, the unusual and unique local foods and produce.

“And our Food to Go area will have a great range of takeaway delights, many of which are “tasting” sized, allowing people to enjoy a variety of flavours and creations,” Trent says.

“It’s an ideal setting to design your own gourmet picnic from the stalls around, then sit back, relax and listen to local musicians while sipping a quality Sunshine Coast wine or beverage.”

The Noosa Beach Classic Car Club will also be hosting their ‘Show and Shine’ display – an impressive gathering of sparkling classic motor vehicles. Situated right in the middle of the Food Fest, the display will provide scores of delicious cars to drool over.

A truly great day out, the Eumundi Food Fest is an event not to be missed. The Eumundi Food Fest is an initiative of the Eumundi Chamber of Commerce.
